We will evolve a definition of the Tag Universe for JAL on this page.
Existing models
Ruby and Python seem to have very similar models for tagging/categorizing their libraries. The topics seem perhaps a little broad for our purposes?
Hackage categories seems to be quite eclectic, perhaps due to a lack of editorial control (e.g. "Data Structures" and "!DataStructures") but seem to be a reasonable basis for Tags JAL?
Some of the tags on CRAN are perhaps a bit specialized for J, but others might be useful.
Clojure seems to have both Categories and Tags, however I haven't found a list of them or a description of their intended usage yet.
