When would you want to select lines?

You would select one or more lines prior to operating on them by means of a tool, or a menu choice.

In this way you can

  • add two or more lines to produce a new line
  • subtract one line from another (the order in which you select lines matters)
  • delete a line (or more)
  • merge lines
  • plot the chart of a block of lines against the first line (as x-axis)
  • operate more generally on one or more lines.
