To shift-click, or command-click, a given tool
If you are invited to shift-click a given tool, this means: hold down the Shift key (either will do) before clicking on the toolbar.
If you are invited to command-click a given tool, this means
- for a Mac user: hold down the Command key ⌘
- for a Windows user: hold down the Ctrl key
before clicking on the tool in the toolbar.
Tool hints
To see a tool hint at the bottom of the window, hover the tool over the toolbar.
This hint usually clarifies the purpose of the tool, and may also make you aware of additional functionality provided by other modifier keys, viz. Command (⌘), Shift+Command (⇧⌘).
