Confusing bold

In the following sentence the emphasis seems to be taken away from the frame.

“whether an operand is empty depends on the rank of its cells: it is empty if there is a 0 in the frame with respect to the cells operated on by the verb.

If there is a reason to put the emphasis there it’s lost on me. Doug Mennella (talk) 00:17, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

It might also be worth being explicit that an empty operand means there are no cells in the result.. As with most of my comments this is meant to clarify it for someone who is not yer already familiar with these concepts (such as myself). Doug Mennella (talk) 00:23, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

I am just going by memory, but I think that there could be cases where there is a zero in the shape, but the verb is not acting on that part of the array. Maybe have a look at a=: 4 3 0 4 $ 5 and then perform {."1 a , {."2 a and {."3 a to see the different results depending on where in the array the verb is applied.
