The value: Infinity (_) (or its negative—__), whatever [x and] y happen to be.

The argument y can therefore be any noun. Ditto x, if present.

_: and __: have sister-primitives 0:, 1:, 2:, 3:, ... 9: and _1:, _2:, _3:, ... _9:, returning the corresponding integers.
