Standard Install (j602 will not install in Mac OS 10.7 Lion)

Use the Finder to copy the j602 folder from the mounted disk image to your <HOME> folder. Be sure you copy j602 folder, not the red J icon it contains!

Copy does a complete replace of an existing <Jinstall> folder and you need extra steps if there are files you want to protect or carry forward.

The red J icon runs Jwdp. The yellow J icon interrupts a running J program.

To run Jconsole in a Terminal window (Finder|Applications|Utilities|Terminal):

...$ ~/j602/bin/jconsole

For easy Jconsole start, create a symbolic link in a folder in PATH. For example,

...$ ln -s ~/j602/bin/jconsole jc
...$ sudo mv jc /usr/bin/jc

System Install

Use the Finder to copy the j602 folder from the mounted disk image to the /Applications folder. This requires administrative privileges for the install and for subsequent JAL updates. A System Install can be shared by other users of the computer.
